The Best Places to Ride Your Honda® Gold Wing in Arkansas

Oct. 29 2019 Miscellaneous By ___

With miles and miles of wilderness, from the Ozarks to the hearts of some of the busiest cities in the state, there’s so much to see and experience in the great state of Arkansas. With so many breathtaking views, it might be difficult to know where to start. That’s why Heartland Honda has provided some of our favorite motorcycle routes, so you can hop on your Honda Gold Wing and test them out for yourself. Bring a camera, a friend, and maybe even an overnight bag, and hit the road! You can also make your way to our dealership in Springdale, Arkansas, serving Fayetteville and Rogers, to check out all of our Honda touring motorcycles.

Eureka Springs Art & Heritage Tour

This route is going to take you on an adventure through some of the most historic and culturally forward parts of the state. You can start just north of us in Rogers, traveling south on I-49. All along the interstate are places to pull off and explore some of the more modern attractions on the route, including the Clinton House Museum and the War Eagle Cavern. And don’t forget to stop by our dealership to say hi!

Then you’ll want to travel east on Highway 112, toward Highway 45, which will eventually snake northward toward Eureka Springs. All along this stretch are stunning views, relaxing roads, and fresh air that’ll allow you to unwind.

As you pass by Eureka Springs, you’ll want to stop and check out this picturesque town situated in the heart of the Ozarks. From tasting rooms to delicious eateries to outdoor wonders, there’s no shortage of things to do in this town. Once you’re done here, make your way back up and over to Rogers to complete the loop with some more fun backroads.

Jasper Disaster

This highly popular loop is filled with winding roads and challenging, but fun, routes. It’s another Ozark loop with 316 turns in 56 miles. As intimidating as that might be, it’s without a doubt one of the most beautiful routes in the state, and absolutely worth the journey. Be careful as you ride, though, as this route is also popular with pedal bikers.

The route itself is also fairly simple. Starting in Harrison, take Scenic Byway 7 south to Jasper, then travel west on Highway 74 to Boxley. Then you’ll ride north on Hwy. 43 back to your starting point. There aren’t as many populated areas (though there are gas stations), but you’ll still want to bring a camera along when you stop to get a look at the view.

Pig Trail Scenic Byway

As one of the shorter routes on our list, this 24-mile ride from Clarksville to Eureka Springs was recently named the top motorcycle ride in the country by USA Today Readers’ Choice poll. And for good reason. You’ll be passing through the Arkansas River Valley, where you can stop by award-winning vineyards on your way to the famous AR 23, also known as the Pig Trail. There are varying accounts of where the name came from, but one thing is sure: this route is one of the most beautiful and fun routes to ride in the entire state. No, the entire country! Take your time and enjoy the long and winding road into the Ozarks.

These are some of our favorite routes, but we want to hear about some of yours. Stop by Heartland Honda for a chat with our friendly staff. We can also show you our Honda Gold Wing motorcycles for sale, so you can have a bike that helps you explore the best parts of the region!
